Meet Tarr

Tarr Oil is one arm of Tarr LLC, a full-service independent distributor of oils, lubricants, fuels and chemicals. Our (unofficial) motto is, "No job is too big, too small, or too challenging."

Tarr has 6 Cardlock sites in the greater Portland area, and we offer a full line of petroleum products and tank monitoring, plus chemical purification and filtration, high-purity packaging, and custom blending, labeling and packaging. Tarr was an early member of CFN and is a founding member of OmniChem, the national network of independent chemical distributors.

Portland, Oregon is home to our corporate headquarters and our Pacific Northwest bulk & packaging center. We also have a warehouse and sales offices near Seattle, laboratories and a full bulk, packaging distribution facility in Phoenix, and a national network of top chemical suppliers and local agents. These strategic locations enable Tarr to service the western US and the Pacific Rim, with some 95% of Tarr orders delivered by our own fleet.

Founded in Portland as Priestley Oil, Tarr was bought and renamed by former President and CEO Byron Tarr in 1980. Byron's son Skip began his career with the company in 1981 and was named president in 1996. In 2003, Skip purchased the company assets to form a new company, Tarr, LLC.
